If you thought you missed the Def Leppard concert this weekend in The Woodlands, you might still get a chance to see them here. The original date was set for this past Friday, July 22nd but was rescheduled for September 23rd. The lead singer’s dad, Joe Elliot Senior, passed away from a heart attack and The Woodlands July concert date was canceled along with dates in Dallas, San Antonio, and New Orleans.
Moving Def Leppard to September might not be a bad thing. Late September in The Woodlands TX usually provides much cooler temperatures in the evenings and is a great time of the year for this outdoor amphitheater. The Woodlands concert schedule is loaded down with great shows in September, with more concerts than any other month out of the year.
There are still many great tickets available for the show including lawn seating and covered seating. If you bought a ticket for the July 22nd concert, your ticket will still work for the September show. You can buy them at ticketmaster or get them directly from the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion box office. You can call the Pavilion at 281-363-3300.
The Woodlands will be getting a new burger restaurant very soon. Coal Burger is coming to The Woodlands Town Center and will be attached to the already existing Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. If it’s anything near as good as the pizza concept, these burgers will be awesome.
Coal Burger is a fairly new concept that Grimaldi’s Pizzeria has launched. Based in Scottsdale, there are two locations already open in Arizona. The Woodlands will be the 3rd store for this exciting new concept. It is considered to be a fast casual dining concept and prides itself in using organic or more naturally grown products whenever possible. Offering a variety of choices like gluten free buns to organic beer, Coal Burger is definitely health conscious.
The burgers will be cooked in a coal fired oven, giving them a natural smokey flavor. All the beef will be certified organic grass fed and chicken will be hormone and antibiotic free. Their menu will also include salads and a vegetarian burger. Specialty drinks will include organic gelato milkshakes and floats, organic beer and wine, and regular cane cola.
Coal Burger’s “Eat Green and Live Green” motto should be a great fit here in The Woodlands TX. This will be a nice addition to the many unique dining options we already have in the Town Center.

April 1, 2011 is supposed to be a big date for the real estate appraisal industry. Over the past couple of years, there has been much re-regulation in the profession, some good and some bad. April 1st should be a happy day for residential real estate appraisers.
In the aftermath of the recent mortgage meltdown, the government passed something called the HVCC (Home Valuation Code of Conduct) that was supposed to increase the quality of home appraisals. The HVCC basically created a middle man in the appraisal process that acts like a buffer between loan officers and appraisers. The appraiser was then forced to split their fee with the middle man and it ran a lot of professionals out of the business. With the appraisers hands tied, these middle men (aka appraisal management companies) took advantage of the situation and were low balling appraisers with no respect to quality at all. In a lot of situations, these management companies were not even bothering to pay appraiser and the industry was turning into a joke.
The government finally had to step back in and add some policies to mandate a minimum fees that management companies have to pay appraisers. These new policies are supposed to go in effect on April 1st. The Woodlands TX real estate appraisers are all anxious to see if the April fools joke will be on them again this year. Even though The Woodlands Texas housing market has held strong, local appraisers have felt the wrath of all the national housing mess. April 1st marks the light at the end of the tunnel.
